Warehouse Supervisor
Sylvia Jansen

Sylvia was born and raised in Christchurch before moving to Wānaka later in life. While living there, she became involved with a local charity, volunteering her time to help provide meals and support to families in need. This experience sparked a real passion for giving back to the community and helping others.
After a change in direction, Sylvia returned to Canterbury and settled on a lifestyle block with her family. Sylvia later came across an article about Satisfy Food Rescue in a local newspaper, and it immediately caught her attention. Sylvia signed up to volunteer with us.
"I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of such an amazing team of volunteers. We all share a common goal of reducing food waste and redirecting good food to people who need it. Knowing that the work we do can make a genuine difference in our community is both rewarding and inspiring."
When Sylvia is not working at Satisfy, you’ll usually find her out riding her horse or spending time working around her property. Sylvia loves the balance of being involved in the community while enjoying the quieter lifestyle at home.
