Satisfy: A tale of two tables

Imagine two tables.

The first table is at a supermarket, overflowing with fresh fruit, vegetables, baked goods, and dairy, all perfectly edible, but surplus to that business for a variety of reasons.

The second table is in the home of John and Sarah, parents who are struggling to decide whether to spend their money on fuel to get to work or on food for their children’s lunchboxes. Their cupboards are bare, and every day feels like a struggle to put food on the table. At Satisfy, we bridge the gap between these two tables. Every day, our team rescues nutritious edible food from supermarkets, growers, and producers, then redistributes it through our community partners to families, individuals, and tamariki in need.

Here is something you might not know: it costs us just 41 cents to get a meal to someone in need.

Put another way, we can turn every $1 donated into the equivalent of 2.46 meals for our community.
