At Satisfy, we recognise that Waitangi Day is a time for reflection, learning, and strengthening our commitment to the values of manaakitanga (hospitality, care for others) and whanaungatanga (relationships, connection).

Kaiapoi, where we are based, has long been known as 'A Hub of Food Gathering.'
Historically, Kaiapoi Pā was a place of abundance for Ngāi Tahu, where rich natural resources were gathered and shared among hapū and iwi.
The traditions of food sovereignty, resourcefulness, and collective care continue to inspire us in our mahi today.
Through food rescue, we try to honour these principles by ensuring that good kai is not wasted but instead reaches those who need it most.
In doing so, we acknowledge the past while working toward a future where all people in Aotearoa have access to nourishing food, upholding the spirit of Te Tiriti o Waitangi—partnership, participation, and protection.
This Waitangi Day, we encourage our community to take time to kōrero, listen, and reflect on how we can all contribute to a more just and sustainable future, where resources are shared with fairness and respect.
