Cushla teaches 6-7 year olds at Rangiora New Life School and has been teaching for over 32 years. She also teaches adults how to make cheese on a monthly basis and loves being involved in adult's and children's learning. She lives with her family on a lifestyle block in Ashley Forest and spends weekends exploring the area with her husband, walking and mountain biking. She also loves being creative. Cooking and baking with any food source available, not letting anything go to waste! "It is so fulfilling being able to redistribute food through this wonderful organisation, Satisfy."

Jelle brings a background in both banking and agriculture. He is currently involved in leading operations on a large-scale farming business in Hurunui, which has given him a practical appreciation for how food systems work — and where they can do better. With experience in financial management and a hands-on operational mindset, Jelle values well-run organisations that genuinely serve their communities. Satisfy's work resonates with him on both counts: the pragmatic challenge of reducing food waste, and the dignity and care shown to every person receiving support. He is motivated to help Satisfy continue growing its impact in a way that is sustainable, effective, and firmly centred on people.

Jelle brings a background in both banking and agriculture.

Kathy is a former high school English and Maths teacher who now heads a charitable trust offering learning support to students of all ages. She has experience leading committees and is a self-starter. Kathy brings strong verbal and written communication skills to the team. She enjoys coming up with innovative ways to solve problems. Kathy has been involved in catering for camps and groups for many years and knows how to make a little go a long way. She has a passion to see food get to those who need it, and to see local young people and families thriving physically and emotionally.

Miles brings over 20 years’ experience working across business, government, and the not-for-profit sector, with a strong focus on helping organisations grow sustainably. He is currently Business Support Manager at Enterprise North Canterbury, supporting local businesses and social enterprises through strategy, funding, and practical problem solving. Miles brings an analytical approach, strong governance awareness, and a talent for designing simple systems with real impact. Outside of work, Miles and his wife, Catherine, have completed many years as foster carers and were recognised with a national award for excellence in foster care.

Miles brings over 20 years’ experience working across business, government, and the not-for-profit sector, with a strong focus on helping organisations grow sustainably.

Phillipa is the founder of Satisfy Food Rescue and served as the Chairperson for over 10 years. She has recently stepped into the role of Interim General Manager. She has a background in professional engineering, working in the field of road asset management for over 18 years. She has been involved with clubs and charitable organisations her whole life, serving as a committee member of Craigieburn Valley Ski Club, leading youth ministries and womens' ministries thorough her church involvement. She has a passion for the environment and sustainability and has always actively encouraged living lightly.

Phillipa Hunt

Phillipa is the founder of Satisfy Food Rescue and served as the Chairperson for over 10 years. She has recently stepped into the role of Interim General Manager.

Simon has recently retired from an executive role in the telecommunications company that he co-founded in 2002. He now enjoys exploring ways where he can utilise his commercial experience to support his passions for waste reduction and poverty relief. Simon has been involved in the local Civil Defence scene for many years. When he is not working in one of his volunteer or governance roles, you’ll find him either working around his lifestyle block or out running the local roads and trails.

Sue’s background traverses government, business and community sectors, having worked as a communications specialist, management consultant and in international and community development (including with early adopters of social enterprise, food security and waste reduction initiatives). She brings strong financial management and governance skills, and has experience both as a donor seeking accountability from funding and as a recipient working within non-governmental organisations. Sue cares deeply about food and housing security, as well as our growing impacts on the environment.
