Karen moved from the UK to NZ 27 years ago and have never looked back. After working in an office here for 7 years Karen decided she needed some fresh air - so for the next 18 years she was the local Postie! Karen's children are very environmentally minded and this rubbed off on Karen. Karen was volunteering for another organisation when she came across Satisfy and this was exactly where she wanted to put her energy as it ticked so many boxes for her.

Karen started in July 2023 with Satisfy as a volunteer, then moved on to a relief driver, permanent part time driver and then to the Volunteer Coordinator.

Karen finds the work is so meaningful and the volunteer team amazing. They’ve really embraced her move to the new role. Outside of Satisfy Karen loves keeping her home and garden in order - "I’m such a home bod!" But her other love is jigsaw puzzles which has got "out of hand with my collection hitting 700!" When Karen is not doing cleaning or jigsaws crosswords she welcomes any challenge to keep her brain sharp!
